ditori.com is an online community-based dining guide in Indonesia, with focus in Jakarta and surrounding areas. Our team collects restaurant information to be listed on our page for visitors to view. In exchange, we would appreciate it if our visitors give us their reviews, ratings, feedbacks, and comments on the diners and restaurants they have visited.

How do you pronounce ditori?

It is pronounced as /di-to-ri/. Honest!

di as in dip, to as in the first 'to' in tomato, and ri as in read.

Why restaurants?

With the amount of information residing on the internet, we realized that not everything should be packed in one place. Too many information from different item categories will only confuse individuals seeking for specific information.

That's why we decided to choose one thing to focus our directory on. We picked restaurants because it is thought to be more useful. People eat out everyday, and they may not know whether a particular place is good or not. In addition, people who doesn't go out that often may find our site useful in finding new dining places they have never visited outside their neighbourhood. What's better way to dine out than to know in advance where they are going to?

On the other hand, restaurant owners often have difficulties promoting their newly-established places in the jungle of restaurants. With our listings, restaurateurs can choose how to tell our visitors about their restaurants. With the addition of visitor ratings and reviews, restaurateurs can also find out what their patrons are really looking for.

Why not something else?

We have plans to grow our online guide to include other things outside restaurants. If you have suggestions as to what you would like to see next, you are welcomed to send us your suggestions.

What do I need to start using ditori.com?

If you can get this far, you are ready to use ditori.com. You can start looking for restaurants from our search page, or you can browse our dining categories. If you are still unsure, visit our main page or see our restaurant recommendations.

Account and preference

Do I need to register to use this site?

We want to make your dining search experience as simple as possible. That's why re decided to make registration optional. You do not need to register to use most of our services. However, we do have certain features which are only available to our registered members.

Registration is easy, and it gives you additional benefits such as being able to keep track of your favourite restaurants, keep your site preference, rate our restaurant reviews, and keep you updated with our new features and special offerings. And best of all, it's free!

I registered but I forgot my password

If you have forgotten your password, you may reset your password. All you need is the valid e-mail that you used to register.

What if I forgot my login details?

Accounts are registered using your e-mail address. If you have forgotten which e-mail you used for your registration, you will have to register for a new account. Please note, however, you cannot use the same email address to register more than once.

What is a preference?

Some people like to change the way they look at things. At ditori, we allow users to specify what language they want to use, how to order their search and listing results, how many items to display for each page, etc. These settings can be changed via the member preference page. Note that if you are registered and are logged in, your preferences will be saved for future usage as well.

Why i do not receive the confirmation message from ditori.com?

If you do not receive the confirmation message from ditori.com, please check your Junk E-mail folder just in case the confirmation email got delivered there instead of your inbox. If so, select the confirmation message and click Not Junk, which will allow future messages to get through.

How do I find what I want?

In case you missed the section on how to start using ditori, you can open our search page and enter your search keywords. Keywords can be the name of the restaurant you are looking for, or some short text related to the restaurant you are looking for.

If the quick search is not enough, you may try our advanced search page, where you may be able to enter more search terms to refine your search. And of course, don't forget that you can always get recommendations on places to eat, or ask around in our community page.

Why do you have so many different search pages?

There are different ways people search for something. Some want quick results, others want detailed results. To accomodate both types of users, we have created both the quick search and advanced search page. If that's not enough, visitors may also check out the latest search, as well as view the popular searches at ditori.com.

For others who would rather browse than search, we also provide category listings where visitors can browse by different categories.

What are categories?

Categories are the different ways we used to classify the extensive restaurants that are listed in our directory. The available classifications are: price range, location, cuisine, facility, establishment, and dining option. And oh, of course alphabetical listing as well.

I don't eat out much. Can you recommend me a restaurant?

Why not? Check out our recommendation page, and we will try to recommend you some places to eat. Otherwise, we are sure that the people in our community page can help you as well.

How do I save my favourite restaurants?

If you are a registered member, you may save your favourite places in your bookmark. Currently, you can store up to 20 restaurants in your bookmark. This limitation may change as we grow and support more features.

Can I recommend a place to eat?

Absolutely! If you have a nice place to recommend, please send us your recommendation.

What are reviews and ratings?

Reviews are the comments and input from visitors on certain dining place or restaurant. We encourage our visitors to give reviews on places they have visited, so that we can get an honest feedback on how good or bad a restaurant is.

Our visitors can also rate and assign scores to a restaurant depending on how good a place is, using three categories: Food, service, and atmosphere/environment. The better a restaurant scores, the better their rating is.

Can I become a reviewer?

On each page of restaurant details, we have added a link where visitors can submit their own reviews for that particular restaurant. Visitors are welcomed to submit their reviews from those links.

We obtain our information from various places, including our own research, information from other visitors, submissions by restaurant owners, and other places. If you want to contribute, you may also send us your suggestion.

We would be happy to have you join our growing directory. Please send us your information and one of our team members will get back to you with more information.

I would like to advertise on this site. How do I do that?

While we would love to have people adversite on our site in addition to subscribing to our service, we believe that by displaying advertisements on our page will reduce the enjoyment of our visitors. As such, we don't plan to offer advertising services at this time. However, we may change this policy in the future if we are able to find a way for advertisers to place their dining-related ads without reducing our visitors' experience.
